Job Description:
Bridge Engineer – Council Bluffs, Iowa Office
Looking to grow your career? If you have the education and skills to fill
this new position at The Schemmer Associates, then we want to meet you. In
addition to inspecting bridges per National Bridge Inspection Standards,
you’ll get to design steel, prestressed concrete and cast-in-place
concrete bridges and transportation structures. Project Management duties
are also part of this position. You’ll utilize the latest technology for
bridge projects and work with others who share your passion for bridges.
Qualifications
• Education – BS, Civil Engineering, MS preferred.
• License – Professional Engineer in Nebraska and/or Iowa – or the ability
to obtain
• Special Credential - Completed FHWA approved comprehensive bridge
inspector training course and qualified to be a Team Leader per the
National Bridge Inspection Standards.
• Minimum of 5 years of bridge design experience
• Working knowledge of codes
• Scheduling/organizational skills
• Ability to coordinate and communicate with other members of the project
team
• Knowledge of various computer programs associated with Bridge Design,
including Microstation, required
